Digital Photography with Canon Cameras

Since digital photography have been invented, people have tried to find cameras with better quality, cameras that can compare well to the old fashioned film ones. And, among the good cameras for the traditional market, Canon has always be one of the best.

Now that digital photography has advanced a lot, we are able to buy digital cameras with quality almost equal to the best non-digital cameras. Professional digital cameras allow us to take the most difficult photos, in illumination conditions that are not ideal, and still get a very good result. I really like the Canon cameras, and I think it would be nice to show some of them in this article.

Canon PowerShot SD600 6MP Digital

This is a basic model from Canon. With the Canon PowerShot SD600 6MP Digital you can take pictures at a resolution of 6 Mega Pixels, which is usually enough for non-professional situations.

The camera, however, comes with very good features, such as 3x zoo, slim design, long life lithium-ion batery, and a widescreen resolution (16:9).

This little camera Canon PowerShot SD600 6MP Digital is also able to record high quality video. In my personal tests, it performed very well despite poor illumination. It is capable of recording up to one hour of video, using only a 1GB memory stick.

Canon Powershot S2 IS 5MP Digital Camera

The Canon Powershot S2 IS 5MP is a step further in quality and capacity -- and with this camera you get a lot more for almost the same price. First of all, you get a high quality, 12x optical image zoom. This is almost the same level of zoom necessary to take professional-looking pictures.

The Canon Powershot S2 IS 5MP is a 5 Mega Pixel camera, and provides very good image quality. Allied to the optical zoom you will be able take stunning pictures.

What I like most about the Canon Powershot S2 IS 5MP is the image stabilizer system. This allows you to take pictures of objects in movement, and the internal system will work to stabilize the image and avoid blured pictures. This is a great feature for a camera selling for this price.

Canon PowerShot SD630 6MP Digital

The Canon PowerShot SD630 6MP Digital camera is another very compact model from Canon, targeted to young people that want to take quick pictures. It gives a lot of power in this small case: 6 Mega Pixels of image quality, movie recording in fast mode (60 frames per second).

This little camera also has a good back display, a 3 inch LCD screen. A nice function of this display is the nigh-display option: it illuminates the image so that you can clearly see the pictures you are taking even at night or in dark environments.

The Canon PowerShot SD630 6MP also has a large number of shooting modes; here is a sample from their documentation:

Manual: The ultimate in creative control, you set ISO speed, exposure compensation and white balance.

Portrait: The camera sets a large aperture, focusing the subject and artistically blurring the background to make your subject "pop." Foliage: Capture brilliant shots of autumn foliage, greenery and blossoms.

Snow: Shoot clear snow scenes without darkened subjects or an unnatural bluish tint.

Beach: Get clear shots of people at a sunny beach without darkened faces.

Fireworks: Grab brilliant images of skyrocketing fireworks.

Underwater: Capture underwater images with reduced backscatter effect. (Note: Optional Waterproof Case WP-DC4 required for shooting any underwater images)

Indoor: Reduce blur and improve color accuracy when shooting handheld indoors.

Kids and Pets: Reduced focusing time freezes fast-moving subjects, so you won't miss those special shots.

Night Snapshot: Get natural-looking pictures with brighter backgrounds and subjects lit by flash.

Color Accent: Choose to retain a single color in your image while other colors turn monochrome.

Color Swap: Select a color and replace it with a color you specify for special effects.

Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP

The Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP Digital Camera is really a big step in the direction of professional products. With this camera, Canon is bringing some of the best features of their professional film cameras to the digital world.

The Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP comes equipped with a 10.1 Mega Pixel system that has very high quality. You can take pictures that look almost the same as a film-based photography.

As any semi-professional camera, the Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP comes with a collection of lenses that you can use to take pictures with a set of visual (analog) effects -- as the great photographers know. You can use the camera to learn about lenses and start creating your own effects.

The camera also has a self-cleaning sensor unit, which uses ultrasonic vibrations to remove dirty particles from the surface of the lens. The Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP also comes with Dust Delete Data Detection (DDDD). This system operates in such a way that, whenever there is some dirty over the lens, the software will automatically detect and correct the resulting problem in the picture. With this feature, you will get a 100% clean picture every time you use your camera.

The camera is packed with so many additional functions, such as varied exposition modes, a screen with automatic turn-off, large display, etc. It looks really incredible to have so much technology for this reasonable price.
